In addition to the electronic application form, applicants should submit a short CV (please DO NOT use europass format) and a short motivation letter (200 words) to Athanassios Tsikliras (FishBioR@bio.auth.gr). The CV should include -but not be restricted to- education (degrees, similar seminars etc), previous working experience, languages spoken, participation to conferences/seminars and published items.
An undergraduate degree in Marine Biology, Ecology, Oceanography, Fisheries Science, Aquaculture, Environmental Science, Marine Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics and a very good knowledge of English is required.
Knowledge of basic fisheries and fish biology concepts would be very helpful.
Participants are required to bring their own laptop (preferably with Windows 10, 64 bit) with R (Version 3.5.1 for Windows for 64 bit, https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/, 62 MB) and R Studio (Version 1.1.456, https://www.rstudio.com, 85 MB) installed and tested. A detailed guide to participants will be available before the course.
A fee of 250 euros is applied per participant. One full (fees, travel and accommodation) and two partial (fees only) scholarships are available to postgraduate students (pending on attendance).
In order to secure their place successful applicants are expected to deposit their full fee within a week from their acceptance letter.
Two (2) ECTS will be credited to each participant upon successful completion of course and a certificate of attendance.
Each participant will make his/her own arrangements for accommodation. There are a few hotels nearby and a lot of BnBs in Thessaloniki around the University.
