Konstantinos I. Stergiou
Professor (part-time)
Konstantinos Stergiou is the Director of the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters of HCMR. He served as a Professor at the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since 2007 and from 2013 as a part-time Professor. He was the former Director of the Laboratory of Ichthyology (2007-2013). He has research interests on fish life-history and population dynamics, fisheries ecology, modeling and forecasting, and ecosystem management, and bibliometrics.

Dimitra Bobori is the Director of the Laboratory of Ichthyology since 2013. She serves as a full-time faculty member at the school of Biology, since 2005 and from 2010 she holds a position as the President of the Management Body of Lakes Koronia – Volvi (National Park, Natura 2000 protected area).

Evangelia Michaloudi is an Assistant Professor of Aquatic Ecology at the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since 2012. She has research interests on zooplankton ecology focusing on food-web interactions in Mediterranean freshwater ecosystems, on integrative taxonomy of zooplankton organisms (rotifers, cladocera, copepoda), on the use of zooplankton in ecological water quality estimation, on the diversity and the biogeographical patterns of zooplankton organisms as well as lake restoration and management.

He also serves as a commissioner Associate Professor at the Department of Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment, University of Thessaly. He was as a post-doctorate research fellow at IPMA (Lisbon, Portugal) and a postgraduate fellow at the Institute of Marine Biology of Crete. He was visiting scholar at several universities (School of Biological Sciences, Aberdeen; USP, Sao Paulo) and research institutes (AZTI, S. Sebastian; IMR, Bergen, IPMA, Lisbon; IEO and CSIC Vigo).

His main fields of research were focused on the ichthyofauna of Greece and the Balkans, taxonomy, limnology, freshwater fish biology, fisheries and aquaculture, as well as the protection and conservation of freshwater fish species. He supervised 13 PhD theses and was a member of the advisory committee in 34. He coordinated over 25 research projects.
